Pet Obedience
The Kinetic Canine offers several classes for pet dogs:
Puppy Class – for puppies 10-16 weeks of age, this class focuses on teaching puppies to be gentle with their mouths, socialization, preventing common puppy problems, and some basic obedience. Puppies can start at any time, after they have had at least two sets of vaccinations and one deworming from a veterinarian.
Basic Obedience – for dogs 16 weeks and older, this class focuses on basic obedience and pet manners. This class is especially suitable for adolescent dogs (6 -18 months) who are very excitable and respond to commands unreliably. We teach attention to the owner, positions (sit, down, stand), stay, coming when called, walking nicely on a leash, and leaving a forbidden item. Eliminating common behavior problems — like jumping on guests, destructive chewing, pulling on leash, etc. — are also covered in depth. Bring on your teenage terrors!
Advanced Obedience – for dogs 16 weeks and older who have completed a basic obedience class. This class fine tunes and polishes the basic obedience skills through structured games (no more boring drills), and teaches some new skills: heeling (on leash and off), targeting, and going to a mat and staying there until released. Perfect for the owner who wants to solidify some basic skills, train for the Canine Good Citizenship Test, or prepare for dog sports classes.
Clown Class — Turn your dog into the class clown! Clown class teaches you and your dog 20 different tricks in 4 weeks. This is great for the owner who wants to play with their dog in a relaxed class setting.
